Import Layout from MicroStation to Workspace

Import Layout workspace Import Layout microstation
  1. Define ACS point in MicroStation original file
  2. Select area for export to ipolog
  3. Draw a fence around the area (incl. ACS) that is to be imported
  4. Shortcut 2-1 “Place fence”
  5. Export fence content via 2-5 “Copy fence content to new file” with the following settings:mceclip0.png
  6. Convert file to 2D
  7. Export – 2D
  8. Save as DGN
  9. Re-open 2D DGN
  10. Save as DWG

  11. Save as – select dwg

  12. Import DWG via PlugIn

  13. If layout levels are defined, the additional file (JSN file) should be used to perform the import automatically and the lines/surfaces are automatically imported as material areas. To do this, the planes on which the material areas are located must be known.

  14. Reopen the file from step 3 (file created with the fence from the original file):

  15. Export – JT

  16. Activate "Export 2D Elements" in the JT Options:

  17. File – Open JT File

    mceclip2.png 8. After loading:

  18. Textures – create top texture

    mceclip3.png 9. File – Create TopView Facility

mceclip4.png 10. Put .jt-file, as well as .png in "facilities" folder

If the result is not satisfactory:

Open the exported file from step 3 in MicroStation
File - Export - Visible edges -> Set dialog as follows:
