Calculation of manpower requirements

Personalbedarf Berechnung calculation manpower requirements

The following criteria must be met in order to calculate manpower requirements:

  • Workers are imported in resource management and assigned in the standard supply chains.
  • In the project, process are imported or created in the submodule process element management and assigned in the standard supply chains.
  • Shift plans are assigned to the workers in the submodule shift schedule management.
  • A logistics quantity framework is imported in the submodule of the same name.
  • Provisioning requests must have been imported or generated in the Production Data submodule.
  • The parts are assigned to the standard supply chains by using the decision tree.
  • In the supply chain editor, material areas must be assigned to the stages. The manpower requirement evaluation only takes the processes of the level into account if this assignment has taken place here.
  • Waste disposal chains (WDC) in personnel requirements: Reports not only total the personnel requirements of the standard supply chain (SSC), but also show the totaled values of the SSC + WDC.

Optional are also:

  • Workers have distribution times.
(Distribution times can be assigned to worker types in resource management)
  • The material areas are assigned to layout levels.

Calculation of manpower requirements in storage areas

Input data:

Worker:                                             Logistics employee
Assigned Shift Schedule:                      shift schedule_01
Working time per shift:                         6,833
Process element:                                repacking
Process time including allowance times:  9,10 seconds
reference value:                                 loading carrier

Column Calculation Example
Process time* including allowance times Process time without allowance times (s) + [Process time without allowance times (s) x (allowance time per workertype/100)] 8 + [8 x (13,75/100)] = 9,10
Number of processes per shift (working time per shift / working time per day) x reference value** (6,833/20,5) x 10 = 3,33
Total process time per shift (number of processes per shift) x Process time including allowance times 3,33 x 9,10 =  30,33
Working time per shift Total duration of a shift - Break times within the shift 7,33 - 0,5 = 6,83
Required workers per shift with allowance (Total process time per shift) / [Working time per shift x 3600] 30,33 / [6,83 x 3600] = 0,0012335
Total process time per day Sum of total process times per shift 30,33 x 3 = 90,99
Workers per day with allowance Total number of workers incl. allowance times per shift 0,0012335 x 3 = 0,0037005

*The process times/values for standard supply chains (SSC) including waste disposal chains (WDC) are calculated as follows:
The SSC is given. For each assignment of the WDC to an SSC, the values of the WDC are added up.
For example, stage 1 and stage 2 each have the same WDC, so the processes must be added 2 times for the same WDC.

** The reference value describes the number of load carriers per day. This value can be found in the columns in the logistics quantity structure on the far right. The calculation is carried out by ipolog 4 Material Flow as soon as provision requirements have been imported or generated.
